He picked the bones of his prey clean and turned the skull over several times before taking it in his mouth. Turning back to his den, he placed it on a large, flat boulder next to several other unusual-looking decorations. Bones, colorful stones and rare dried flowers lined the small cavern of Mephisto's home. He found it often repelled visitors.
Oddly enough, he heard other lions nearby. "Is the scent of blood not enough to keep these bratty cubs away from me?" He snarled and looked outside, ready to roar and chase the young ones away, but no cubs were seen. Instead, a dark lioness with lightning patterns etched into her fur was nearby.

Genesis, muttering to herself and shaking her head slightly, was paying little attention to the sudden appearance of a horned head from a nearby cave... until she nearly locked horns with it. "I'm terribly sorry!" The lioness spoke in an embarrassed way, slipping the slightly curved edges of her horns away from his face. Confusion rang in her gaze when the scent of blood hit her nostrils. "What's dead?" She cocked her head, confused yet curious.

The brute thought the lioness would stop any second, but took a step back just before one of his eyes were taken out by her horns. He was about to holler, tell her to watch where she was going, but snapped his muzzle shut when she spoke. "I-it's alright. No harm done." Perhaps it was her level of respect, pulling the prongs away and apologizing that kept his temper in check. He gave a proud half smile as relaxed. "Just finished cleaning another... lovely decoration." He motioned for her to follow inside the den "If you have a strong gut, I can show you."

Genesis perked her ears. "Decoration?" She muttered, standing to follow the larger male. As she followed him into his den, her eyes widened in both curiosity and admiration, his den was beautifully decorated with an assortment of bones, colored stones, and flowers. She had only ever laid eyes on a single flower, a cream colored one deep in a cave which she promptly picked, roots and all, and planted in the cool depths of her home. A particularly pretty flower caught her gaze, being nearly the color of the earth element Cobalt. "Your den is beautiful." She offered a smile, turning g her gaze back to the stocky male.

The brute sat by the entrance and watched the lioness poke around. Flowers weren't all that common in their world, so Mephisto took all that he could--mostly ones squished by paws and claws on the battlefield-- then dried and hung them up. "It took all year to get it this way, so I'm glad you like it... and I'm glad the delinquents don't!" He chuckled, referring to the cubs playing nearby in the field just outside the dens. "Ah, and my apologies for not saving any food. Wasn't quite expecting company. Though when I found this--" he jerked his head to the direction of a pile of large rodent bones "there was a nest of them. Scared 'em off, but you know they always come back. Bet we can get a few more easily, that is, if the smell of blood is THAT enticing." Standing to his feet, he held his gaze, waiting to see if she wanted to take him up on the offer.

The lioness tilted her head just slightly to her right, a slow almost sadistic smile curling to her muzzle. "That sounds lovely." She gave a nod, padding silently to the bones. "Cubs aren't bad sometimes, when they listen." She spoke clearly, yet softly, touching her nose gently to the bones. Without disturbing them she pulled her muzzle away, attention once more towards the brute. The longer she stood in the same spot, the more she had to keep her paws from freezing the ground beneath her feet, hence why she moved every so often. Her ice ability did this to offer some sort of protection to the plant life she was around, seeing that when her pads so much as touched a plant most of the time, it withered and died.
