If there was one thing that Mari hated, it was pushy, shovy lions. Why did they always have to be so rough? It was a question that Mariska had yet to find an answer towards in her life so far. She preferred to take the calmer, gentler road. It was so much easier, not only because she had a tendency to be lazy like her brother Zodiac, but also because it seemed to yield much better results. So why did a lot of lions feel the need to also be so rude in their dealings? Letting out a defeated huff of air, tail dragging the ground a bit, Mariska continued on her little walk.
One paw in front of the other.
However after a certain time, the lioness was lost to her more darkening thoughts. Her pace slowed, her tail drooped between her back legs, and her head slumped down. Eventually she came to a stop and just let herself fall tot he ground in a heap as she curled up, paws over her face. For Mariska, the problem with life was the nagging thoughts, the dark trickster shadows in her mind, and the deep sadness she seemed to always fall prey to. She was meek, and timid. Most lions ignored her, so why should she bother to try for them?
All she really wanted to do was sleep, if she was being honest with herself. Dealing with others was exhausting, and it was for certain not on her list of favorite things to do. There were a very select few who did not just drain her immediately upon their appearance, and that was her brothers, her sister, their parents, and a few child hood friends, such as Nereus and Rys.

Nereus was flicking his tail back and forth, watching how his fur lit up as he did so. Boredom was setting in. He looked around the Pride and watched the lions moving about their ways, talking to each other or pacing around. He especially noticed Mariska pacing around, seemingly frustrated. At last she slumped to the ground and curled up, as if defeated. Nereus tilted his head, wondering why she was so upset. He stood up and leapt off his little rock, gracefully landing on the flat ground. One paw at a time, he made his way towards Mariska and sat down next you her. He didn't even look at her, he knew she was upset. "What's wrong, Mariska?" He said and then finally met her gaze.
Nereus was careful to keep his tendrils away from the lioness. The last thing he wanted to do was to accidentally sting her.
