Days passed to weeks, weeks to months and months to years as the civil war raged on their boarders. Danger lurked all around, the quiet drawing out waiting for the opportune moment to strike and set this momentary peace into chaos once more. The eve of night pressing on, the looming shadow of war and carnage at their very door. And yet, hope rang true through the mountains of the pride. The last attack on them all was weeks ago, and the time inbetween had shifted from worry and doubt to a comfortable rest and relaxation. Most of the pride kept busy, always alert and prepared for battle, but never the less did they enjoy it.
It was during this time that Ethereal had finally taken a moment for himself to breath and relish in the silence. He had taken refuge within the grand chamber which stood empty save for his own presence. It was here he lounged, eyes peering into the depths of the lake that pooled inside its massive halls. A smile had taken refuge upon his face, a strange occurence for the young alpha who's mind and body had been tested to their limits and had left him empty of the youthfulness one of his age should be.
Here, in this moment, Ethereal reflected on the old moon he was raised on my both adoring parents. Back in a time before the war had broken out, and his fate sealed to lead the pride to such a bitter stalemate. The fun he shared, carefree and reckless as he bounded across the barren moon with not a worry in the world. It was a time he wished to return to, and yet despite all the trouble and anguish this war had brought...his people reminded him of all the joy that he indeed had now.

Days to weeks, weeks to months, months to years, and yet it felt like no time at all. Perhaps it was a part of the 3000 year old 'curse' that had fallen upon the dream lioness' that made time seemingly pass slowly. Though it was more likely due to Metsastys having just woken a second time mere months ago. After discovering the secrets of the fog and their past, she had set herself to quick work; aligning strongly with the prides will to eliminate the threat of the rebellion. As a warrior she was often in the realm of danger and bloodshed, but she found her greatest strength to be in obtaining information.
It was due to this, that she was being sent by the Council to share information with Ethereal. Though, she didn't consider the information to be tide changing- they still thought it enough to disturb the leaders rest. She wondered briefly if the leader would remember her threatening behavior towards him when she had awoken with the fog mystery solved. She had never truly apologized for her demands and aggressive behavior of that day, though she hadnt seen much of the leader to have the chance since.
Upon arriving in the inner chambers, She announced her presence with a short greeting, dipping her head briefly. In the lull between her greeting and her assumption that she had to be noticed to resume speaking, she shifted her gaze about the large cavern. With a tinge of amusement, she realized this was possibly the first she had seen it in person, as most her ventures within the cavernous home of these lions was in the dreamscape.
[Sorry for short reply c: mobile is sorta terrible for typing but wahoo stys and ethereal rp finally!]

Ethereal's dream like trance faded as another presence penetrated the cavern with which he resided. His eyes drifted calmly to the newcomer, expecting Arcturus or Valkyrie with news and updates. Yet, to his surprise, he saw Metsastys. The last encounter they had had was months ago when she was new to the pride. Her agression towards him was one that left him unsettled, but not one that made him dispise or even dislike her. For most who appear out of nowhere, fear fills the hearts of all with doubt. A doubt the young alpha did not wish to continue a cycle of.
At her greeting, he too bowed his head in respect to her presence and clambered easily to his four paws. ''Please, come in Metsastys.'' Ethereal beckoned as he took strides towards her. "What can I help you with?" His voice warm and welcoming. Her visit was one most unexpected, though he imagined given her warrior position, it had to do with tactics or news from the front lines.
(Not to worry, super happy to have them interact c: )

When the greeting was returned, she dipped her head again, stepping towards the great fuzzy leader. It wasnt often that she felt power imitating from individuals around the pride- of course there were several that made her skin crawl with the thought of the now ancient rebel leader catching and using- but the sheer rarity of the element that Ethereal held was something else. She found herself staring him down in thoughts of how his element could possibly hold enough power to terrify generations of lions into following the time lions, and yet Ethereal himself looked too.. fluffy. Soft.
The warmth in his voice only further probed this. It calmed her somewhat to see a lion in charge that didn't hold the mind of a cold killer. It somewhat troubled her with the thought that he can't be much older than she is. Or rather- was before the 3000 year curse telephoned them through time. Still, orders were orders.
"The head warrior thought it vital for you to know of a rebel spy that has infiltrated your ranks in the guise of a rogue. With the use of the dreamscape I've found location of his presence but was told to defer to you before taking action." She shook her head, a small smile curling across her face. "Do they often act as though they expect you to take up arms against these sorts of things?" She asked, her amusement at the prides strange ways seeping into her tone. It was all very strange to see the pride reporting everything that could be handled without wasting the alphas time. It sat opposite from the ancient rebel camp that would handle these sorts of things by sending an assassin to torture for information or simply just kill the offending spy. Complete opposites, and yet soothing to see the brutality toned down.

Ethereal listened intently, letting a soft smile curl his lips at her remark about taking up arms. It was certainly not customary for the alpha to take action in matters such as this, but it amused him none-the-less to hear it come from her. It was not often lions take such a relaxed approach with him in terms of news and general conversation. Maybe it was out of respect or perhaps fear, but it was indeed soothing to hear a joke intertwined with something so common place.
"Well, I do appreciate the notice in regards to this infiltrator, though I do wonder..." He said, voice trailing as he drew back to think about the newfound information. "If this spy is truly what is claimed of them, what evidence do we have to support it? I do not take lightly to the guilt bestowed on any, certainly when it means condemning them to a fate undeserved." Ethereal stated, now resting on his haunches. His eyes locked onto Metsastys's, they were warm and focused intently like every word he and her spoke were of the utmost importance.
"We do have lions in and out of our boarders with some regularity- Nomads here to assist or take refuge then leave again within the day. It certainly does not surprise me, however I do have a lack of understanding of the intel that this spy is accused of attempting to aquire? Has Kouhei or Rowtag given you any additional information?" The alpha asked, his tone still as soothing and patient as before.

It was strange to have found respect for another lion so quickly that she barely knew, and yet, here she was finding the strange beads of respect settling in her for the time lion. Even so, she found the lion in front of her hard to connect with the image of the all powerful time lion that surrounded the history she had missed in her sleep. While she knew how to behave around those that held power, without the automatic perception of his hold on it, it was easy to lose hold of her professional detached reports and discuss it as she would with anyone. Especially when he took such caution in ending lives.
"It is a heavy responsibility to have the lives of so many rest upon ones shoulders. It's not easy to kill. Especially if there's a possibility of innocence." She murmured, mirroring the alphas posturing and settling on her hindquarters.
"They gave me ideas of where to look for him, told me it was important he be found after information was gathered about possible spies." She gave a small huff when the realization struck, "I suppose that is why they wanted to defer to you. Pass the responsibility." She shook her head, biting back any more comments and straightening her posture.
"They told me a general idea of what to look for and where he may be, then I explored the dreamscape until I could find him. It can be hard explaining how the dreamscape connects and thus explaining the location was anot interesting conversation to have with those that didn't quite understand how the element works." She flicked her ear. "Suffice to say, I know the location best, though I don't know the target well. He woke before I could fully manipulate the dreams to reveal thoughts or goals. Would it be wrong to suggest a small group go to interrogate?"

''Indeed, and yet someone must bare that weight. Otherwise chaos would surely ensue.'' Ethereal stated, a chuckle escaping his maw at the irony of it all. Leadership was something he had never desired, and yet here he was. ''However, if the warriors believe they have suitable intel on this lion...it is worth looking into." The alpha stated.
Rising once again to his feet, his strides leading him away from his company to the lakes edge. A spirit lingered beneath the surface, watching and listening intently to their conversation. Ethereal bowed his head to the spirit in respect, peering back to Metsastys. ''Do tell me, what would you recommend we do about this lion spy? How would you set the mission to obtain them?" Genuine curiosity in his tone. He was a lion open to suggestions and eager to receive council from all, regardless of rank or experience. Seeing as she had been tasked to this assignment by the secondary warrior leaders than surely she was capable of a commendable fix to this predicament.

Metsastys watched silently as the alpha made his statement then walked away. A short lifetime of strong orders and strict hierarchy nearly convinced her that she was being dismissed. A short sigh escaped her jaws, her gaze glaring holes in the space the alpha had been moments before he walked past and away.
Resigned to beine a messenger in this instance, she stood, ready to head back to her den. However as she turned to leave the chamber she was surprised to see his form still close by. His pace was slow as though he intended her to follow.
Burying her doubt, she followed alongside Ethereal until his destination became clear. Hesitant of the unnatural and unfamiliar lake, she lingered back a few feet, standing quietly until she was recognized once more.
His questions surprised her once more and she stared at moment at him as though she expected him to take it back despite his tone. When he didn't she mulled over his question before finally answering.
"If I'm too be blunt, I was raised to kill first ask later. Many things have since changed my tactics and attitude, but I still have found myself to lack the tact and subtly that others could advise you with." She tilted her head as though wordlessly questioning why he was asking. "In the end, while others may lure the spy back in and find proof that way. I find myself more drawn to taking a small force and seeking him out myself, gather evidence with the help of a psychic or perhaps just talking with the lion."
She pabused for a moment, settling back down to her haunches and giving a small shrug. "Or if you don't hold a suspicion of my element it could be as simple as waiting till nightfall and plunging into the dream scape. If your council trusted me, I perhaps could even wake your conscious and bring you alongg to see this spy for yourself."

Ethereal nodded, her suggestions welcome and appreciated as she listed scenario after scenario of potential apprehension. ''Your blunt expression is most welcome here Metsastys as are your words of council. You may not be in such a position of power or influence but to me your words hold as much weight as the council I surround myself with" the alpha concluded, his eyes wandering from hers back to the spirit who drifted beneath the surface.
It was here Ethereal began mulling over the information presented, coming to a conclusion quickly though he drew out the silence in the room and allowed his thoughts to settle before presenting them to his guest. ''Whether the council approves, ultimately it is both my duty and my risk to take the oaths less traveled and protect lives when I can. Strategically it would make more sense to gain information from the safety of the encampment... in this dreamscape you speak of." Ethereal concluded once again locking eyes with hers, trying to show his trust and respect for her.
''Much unlike my council, or even some of the pride- I do not fear the unknown. Nor do I fear you or your kin. I cannot close myself or my people from seeing and learning the good of what your gifts can bring as well as the others who have appeared on our lands these past 100 years. I trust you with my life and the prides as much as I would my council or any other." The young alpha said confidently, his words genuine.

His words stunned her, a silence filling the room as she mulled over his words carefully. A part of her born from paranoia, fear, and anxiety pointed out her mistake as soon as she had spoke them. There once had been an alpha that had learned of their gifts and had abused them to cause destruction, and here she was offering hers willy nilly to the next alpha she met.
At once she seemed hyper aware of the exits of the room. The fear mounting as silence seemed to drag on to her, despite it only lasting a moment for real.
When he finally turned completely towards her and stared into her wine eyes, she found herself unable to fully meet his, instead focusing her gaze on his nose.
And yet another part of her warred on, fighting to keep her posture bordering a calm state. She had found time and time again that this pride was nothing like the ancient rebellion, Ethereal nothing like the air elemental.
Whether he could sense her sudden shift in stature or not, the male seemed to find words that again put him on a whole different level than the evil leader she once knew. She gave a small nod, her exhaling a breath she hadn't realized she had held.
"My sisters and I appreciate it" she murmured, dipping her head in a bow before finally meeting his eyes.

Ethereal as he spoke noticed only a small shift in his guests demeanor. A momentary lapse of calm that was filled with doubt, fear and apprehension. The moment caught him off guard, though as the silence dragged on between them the thought dawned that it was something he had said.
"I do apologize.."Ethereal began, his voice soft. "If I did offend you in any way." The alpha worried that he had lost all hope in her towards him, that was something he didn't want to have happen. "I cannot pretend to understand all you underwent all those years ago Metsastys. The treatment of you and your sisters was beyond atrocious and deserves justice if ever I could give you it. However, know that if anything makes you fear for your life, make you uncomfortable or asks something of you that you cannot do, I nor any within my boarders will ever force that of you."

The alphas words were unexpected. Despite the surprise and lingering suspicion, she held on to his words, hoping them to be true. "Thank you Alpha." She murmured, watching his expression for any signs of a mal-intent. With none found, she stood slowly, turning to look at the lake ahead.
"The dreamscape will serve the mission well, though it may be best to wait until nightfall in hopes the target will sleep. I may be able to find him by tracking as I did the other night, but finding his conscious would be faster.." She paused jn her explanation in her plans, giving him a curious look. "Would you like time to speak to your council and generals? They may have plans of their own..."

Ethereal nodded, waiting on every word from her lips and dissecting the tone for hints into her thought. Though, her voice never wavered, alleviating the tension that had been mounting between their silent moments.
"There is no need to discuss this with my council, they would - never approve of such a thing which is why it is unnecessary. My council does not understand the benefit of being open minded. Many of them due to the loss of the alpha before me...Aeon. It was because of him that I was granted life afterall..." Ethereal's voice trailed, reflecting on the stark reality of the situation and feeling the burden it brought with. "I for one do not fear, it is often in my dreams I see clarity and comfort in all of this madness. And, if it means being used to find this lion and his intentions then let us journey there." He finished, drawing in a quiet breath, letting his eyes wander beneath the water to the swimming spirits.

Her mouth drew into a tight line as he explained his council's views. In light of the new information, she nearly questioned why he would keep such lions, why not replace them with his new rule to keep loyalty to him, not to an old dead leader. However, it was not her place to question it. Either way it could pose a danger from the council for her- if not both of them. If they found a dreamer had induced a coma onto their leader, they would be furious. She didn't much like the odds, but a look at the leader had her in a state of indecision. She should tell him no, have him find a different way... but.. what if this was a way to prove the usefulness of an open mind to the dreamers? What if aiding this mission would open the council up to them? She followed his line of sight to the water, a small sigh escaping her lips. For a long moment she sat quiet, lost in thoughts. Finally.. /Ancestors help me../ she pleaded, turning her eyes back to him. "Let us do this quickly. We need a private area that your council will not find and wake you before we can travel enough. After that, I'll induce a deep sleep upon us and we'll get moving."
