This wasn't the world Nissa would have liked to have been born in by any means. War torn and broken, where the lost are heroes and the thieves are left to drown. The promise of safety and peace seemed bleak as the fairy tails written upon the walls of the den she lived in. The still young lioness, but a cub at the time thought her life would be nothing but fighting and hurt.. Until the day she met the cub trainer everyone seemed to adore.
This is where our story begins, with a curious little cub and a fluffy trainer named Taranath. What will become of the pair nobody knows, but together Nissa hopes that they will face the odds against them and run head first into the fear others run from.

Taranath dismissed the group of cubs he was teaching, watching them race back to their families before letting out a heavy sigh and hauling himself to his paws. He wandered aimlessly through the pride, lost in thought. He quickly became unaware of his surroundings, moving soundlessly through the land. A moment of weightlessness ripped him from his thoughts. Finding himself face first into the ground he quickly stood and observed the ground behind him. Soon concluding that he had tripped over a rock in his distracted state. Turning his attention to the land around him, he silently surveyed the land. He stood in field of grass that appeared to be vacant. Sitting down, he decided to just enjoy the beautiful scene before him for a while.

Nissa had been stalking a little insect with pretty blue wings. She took no notice of the sudden appearance of Tatanath, watching the insect fly up over the grass that was taller than her before springing up in an attempt at catching it. Unfortunately she fell short, landing with an 'oof' in the grass. "I will not be deterred little bug!" The cub called, still unaware of Tarnath's presence until, giving chase to the bug, she ran head first into his leg. Sitting in front of him and at an almost attention like state she looked up with her ears folded back. "Sorry sir, I was chasing a bug and didn't mean to, sir." The little lioness had always been a respectful one, thanks to her parents.

A flash of movement in the corner of his eye caught his attention. His ears flicked nervously behind him as he turned his head, narrowing his eyes as he searched for whatever caused it. Finding nothing, he grew uneasy. Someone or something was out there, he just couldn't see it. His muscles tensed as he searched for any indication of whatever was out there. It was only when a Cubs voice rang out from the grass that he relaxed, breathing out a sigh of relief as he realized there was no danger. He stood, about to leave when the cub startled him by ramming into his leg. He was surprised by her polite behavior, as most cubs he has known hasn't treated him as such. Perhaps because he tends to act strange around them.. Most likely because he became an adult not very long ago. "It's alright..." He responded, turning his gaze back towards the grassy field. It then dawned on him that the cub was here alone.. "Why are you here alone? Shouldn't someone be here with you?" He questioned, gazing back down at her.

Nissa gave a twitch of her ears, head lowering so she could lock that redish gaze on her black paws. "Salem was fighting with the other cubs, and they turned on me to call my family evil. I ran away to come here and watch the sky." She seemed to think she was in trouble, ears now laid back. It was clear the little cubbin didn't want to go back to training or her den. "I can go back home if I need to, I just don't want to go back to class." This last bit was mumbled as she shuffled her paws.

Taranath gazed at her, silently listening to her speak. He sympathized with the young cub, having been teased and mocked more than enough when he was training. “I see no harm in letting you stay.” He replied as he laid down, tail flicking from side to side as a breeze ruffled his fluffy mane. “My name is Taranath by the way.” He added, dipping his head in a polite manner as he introduced himself.

The cub immediately perked up, offering the larger male a thankful purr. "I'm Nissa." She stood to bound in circles around Taranath for a moment, scaring the bugs out of their hiding spots. She frowned when she realized that the pretty one with the blue wings was gone. Attention turning back to the cub trainer her head tilted. "Are you the trainer that everyone talks about, the one that's really shy?" Curious cubs will do as curious cubs do, and ask a million questions.
